Research Log

Text goes here and yeah sure why not

Content Note:

This log pertains to the history of mining in Appalachian coalfields, focused on Pennsylvania and West Virginia in particular.

It includes descriptions of mining accidents and disasters and forms of oppression miners faced to evaluate the costs in human life and assess safety procedures, working conditions, and risks undertaken.

By necessity, the log will cover subjects such as classism, racism, ethnic discrimination, poverty, and police brutality, as well as severe injuries, fatal accidents, mass death, medical consequences of mining, and the environmental devastation caused.

These aren't easy things to write or read about, and can be disturbing. Please decide for yourself whether you want to continue reading.
