Did you ever make fortune tellers as a kid?

Those little paper things, that you write on and fold?

(aka cootie catcher, bug catcher, etc.)

Well, I decided to make you one -- conveniently using the paper and ink that's in your printer right now!

Scroll down to read the directions under the image.

    Here's what you do:

  1. Right click the image above and save it to your computer.

  2. Use your preferred method to prepare the image for printing, sizing it so that it will fit on one piece of paper. The larger the better, as long as it'll fit on one sheet without getting cut off.

  3. Print it! (I apologize for the excessive amount of black ink required, I thought the black corners looked cool and didn't have the heart to change them to something else.)

  4. Woo! Congrats, you now possess the real paper and ink of my drawing, due to the wonder of technology. Get your scissors and, as neatly as you can, cut along the edges on the dotted lines so you have The Square.

  5. Fold that square into a fortune teller by sheer muscle memory. Okay, if not, please look up directions on how to fold a paper fortune teller, in your preferred instructional format (diagram, video, photos, etc.). Here's an ehow article with written directions and a video, for example.

  6. Successfully folded it and ready to go? Well done! Nothing can stop you now. Go ahead and look up how to use it if you need a refresher, there's a few ways to do it.

  7. Get out there and enjoy your extremely vague fortune telling prowess!

  8. Note: For the eight inner options, there is the choice to use the numbers OR use the words for the items pictured. If you use the words (1) feather, (2) mushroom, (3) fish, (4) bee, (5) strawberry, (6) clover, (7) acorn, and (8) snail, you will preserve the same distribution as the numbers, just in a different order.
